Thanks, all!

So, Puneet and Sheece - the alternative view that OLPC has is achieved with simple styling, like via CSS? Or is it more complex with wikis and namespaces? Or is there a theme or skin concept? I'm still reading up on namespaces for wikis and would love some pointers to more reading material... thanks.

Great post Anne!

This could solve the issues I told you about for our documentation needs. We're presently investigating a Wiki and wikislicing might just solve our problem.

Thx!

There have been parallel efforts on producing cross sections of wikipedia, called wikislices. One by webaroo at (http://wikislice.webaroo.com) and the other Wikiproject (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Wikislice). The OLPC wikislices that you have mentioned are more` like an alternate view to the corresponding wikipedia atricles. Wikislice however are a collection of wikipedia pages on a topic. So if you need to see all the pages related to violon just see http://wikislice.webaroo.com/wikislice/Violins

Very interesting thought about having wikis in the book format. I guess there should be a way to skin wikis in a format that the end user prefers. I guess it shouldn't be very difficult to achieve that.

Thanks for linking the wikislice presentation here.
