Oh and one other question I never could answer with my research is this: what's a good rule of thumb for the amount of content compared to MB of data? I know that graphics would take up more room, but is there a general rule you apply when sizing a new installation?

Thanks Gordon and Char! No wonder I wanted to write a post explaining how databases and Author-it work - it can get confusing. Although I think the MB/GB problem was a typo.

Thanks for crowdsourcing this entry. I love the Internets. :) I corrected the entry.

Just a note...SQL Express falls under SQL, not JET :-) JET libraries have an upper limit of 2GB or 5 users.

SQL Express limit is 4GB... Slightly better than 4MB ;-)

We will be using SQL Express for our implementation here, so if I find anything useful I'll post it.
