Hey, wow, someone uses the Apollo 13 story for ITIL training
In a previous post I talked about the “Ah ha!” use of a sock by the engineers guiding the Apollo astronauts. Apparently someone has created a simulation training using the Apollo 13 mission as a use case.
From Apollo 13 – an ITIL case experience:
‘Apollo 13 – an ITIL case experience’ is an intensive one day training in which the ITIL concepts and processes are not only explained, but also experienced by the course attendees through the use of an interactive game. In this training ‘real life’ situations taken from the Apollo 13 mission are simulated. Course attendees work in teams, playing the roles of the Mission operations ground crew charged with bringing the crippled craft and its crew safely home.
The other pages are in Dutch, I believe, and since I can’t read Dutch I’m not sure how you take the training but I like the idea.
ITIL contains a lot of common sense while still making connections that are not immediately apparent. Or, as ITIL expert Ken Turbitt says in his podcast description, “ITIL is nothing more than documented common sense.”
